Conductance converter
Convert conductance between siemens and mho, and into resistance in ohms.
That's about the same as wet skin. On 230 V it would pass 0.23 A.
What it means
How easily does current flow?
Body resistance varies widely with skin, moisture and contact area; the figures are typical, not safety limits.

Three things worth knowing
-
Siemens = 1 ÷ ohms
A 220 Ω resistor is 4.5 mS; a 1 MΩ one is 1 μS. The bigger the resistance, the smaller the conductance.
-
The mho
Before SI named it after Werner von Siemens in 1971, the unit was the mho, ohm spelled backwards, with an upside-down Ω for a symbol. It is exactly the same size.
-
Siemens is not siemens per meter
Conductance belongs to one part; conductivity, in S/m, belongs to the material. A thicker or shorter wire of the same copper has more conductance and the same conductivity.

Background
About conductance
Conductance is resistance turned upside down: 1 siemens is 1 ÷ 1 ohm. It says how easily current flows, rather than how hard it is pushed back.
It makes parallel circuits simple: side-by-side paths just add their siemens, the way resistors in series add their ohms.
