Cholesterol converter
Convert blood lipids between mg/dL and mmol/L. Cholesterol and triglycerides are different molecules, so choose which you are converting.
That's 1.29× as high as an ideal level, while the desirable limit is 1.01× higher. For information only: targets depend on your overall risk, so talk to a doctor.

Three things worth knowing
-
Divide by 38.67, or 88.57
Total cholesterol of 200 mg/dL is 5.2 mmol/L. Triglycerides of 150 mg/dL are 1.7 mmol/L, because that molecule is heavier.
-
Two molecules, two factors
Cholesterol weighs 386.7 g/mol and a typical triglyceride 885.7. Divide by ten and you have the conversion factor for each.
-
Using one factor for both
Converting triglycerides with the cholesterol factor overstates them by more than double. Always check which line of the report you are reading.

Background
About lipid units
The US reports lipids by weight in mg/dL; most other countries count molecules in mmol/L. Cholesterol divides by 38.67, triglycerides by 88.57, because the molecules differ in mass.
